Since starting college I understand that the mistakes that I have made in the past; since they are showing their aftermath as I enter college. It is almost impossible for my family to pay for me to go to college, since I have no bright futures, financial aid, or any scholarships at all whatsoever. The only thing I have is some money that my parents saved up for me that is quickly disintegrating. The most important issue to me is education, more specifically higher education, EVEN MORE specific... college tuition. The price of attending college keeps rising and rising, and I am not even sure that I will be able to attend school next year if my parents don’t get a break soon from all of these bills. It's hard enough to just pay for me to go to college, because my parents also have to pay for my brother and he goes to NSU, which is a private university, which means even the double the tuition my parents have to pay, because financial aid won't give them barely any money because my parents combined make way to much money to be even considered with aid. I do not want to become a bum and do nothing with myself, I want to make something out of myself and become a nurse one day. Since this topic affects me the most, I can't help but to focus on education for everyone and anyone.
After hours of research, I finally got all the evidence I need to know about Obama's platform on education and how it stands at a higher level compared to McCain's platform on education. But I will only touch on one issue that got to me the most. And it is about schools that children attend.
John McCain stresses the fact that charter schools need to be created in order to provide competition, so that students can excel in school. He thinks that "throwing money at the problem is not the answer". So what does he mean by this??!? Give up on people who have no other choice than be poor?? Of course people can always find a way to prosper out of low income areas, but the truth is there will always be poor, middle, and rich communities that will exist and each one of them don't have control over what kind of school there children goes to. It is true that the most of the money from the government goes to the worst schools there are in the U.S.A., and it is also true that there are bad teachers that need to find other jobs. But to just give up on schools that are doing poorly?? How does that solve anything? If anything it can raise crime rates, etc, if people are stuck in the mindset that they are in a bad school and their own country won't help them out.
Barack Obama plans to expand on every type of school. He plans on giving money to schools that are doing bad by giving money and reforming these type of schools to "improved reading scores, reduced dropout rates, reduced deliquency rates." Which is the most important topic there is. He focuses on the middle class, so that everyone can benefit. He reaches out to parents so that they can assist their children in becoming more eager to gain knowledge. At least this is a different approach, compared to the approach that we have today with republicans in office.
Promises can't always be kept, but promises do promote feelings of hope and eagerness to change what is wrong with this country today.

.ZEiTGEiST.
WOW. I watched the Religion part of the movie, and all i can say is wow. I was baptised as a catholic, had my first communion, then converted to christianity by myself... so i know all of the basic stories about jesus christ and how he died for all of our sins. I have always been curious about religion and where it came from. So when I was watching the first part of the movie, and the narrator was saying the story of the sun god, Horus, I was like wow why does that sound so familiar?!?!? So then the narrator continues on to state other "gods" and the similar characteristics of the story and I'm like OH MY GOD, they are copying the stories of J.C.!!!!! (Jesus Christ).
Religion had always been a touchy subject to me personally. I dont know what is going to happen after I die, and as much as I'd like to know, there is no for sure way to really know what is going to happen. So why is it that all these tales of gods that have existed throughout history have similar stories. Well as the video says its because of astrology. I have always been open to new ideas about religion and I always like to think that when I die I will be in a happy safe place, and this video has opened my eyes to a whole new perspective on religion. It does make sense of how they say the story of all the gods and how it relates to the stars in the sky. Now I personally feel that all religions are questionable, because this video has led me to believe that religions copy off one another from the original story, and just change a couple of things so that the religion and their god can be considered unique. I honestly don't know what to believe anymore... im in a vulnerable and impressionable state concerning religion.
